Navigating Spiritual Dryness
There are seasons in every spiritual journey when the well seems to run dry. Prayers feel empty, the Scriptures seem silent, and the vibrant connection we once felt with God fades into a quiet ache.
This experience, often called spiritual dryness or the 'dark night of the soul,' is not a sign of spiritual failure. In fact, it is a normal and necessary part of spiritual maturation.
When we can no longer rely on emotional highs or familiar feelings of comfort, we are invited to trust in God's presence in the dark. We learn to love God for who God is, rather than for the good feelings God provides.
If you are in a season of dryness, be gentle with yourself. You do not need to perform or produce spiritual fruit right now. Simply show up. Rest. Let your desire for God be your prayer.
